WordPress Vs Blogger

I haven’t been blogging here on WP or anywhere for a long time. Now I’m mostly working on resurrecting my old sites that I started on blogger. Tubeblogger and The Helpful Web, places where I would write tutorials and video blogs. A lot of time was spent with the themes, trying to get everything to work, making sure it’s seo and meta friendly, and keeping up with all the Google updates that would always be bad for my blog in some way if I did not.

Blogger always had several free themes but they were just not mobile friendly. Or they had separate mobile themes which looked horrible. It’s was still possible to clear out everything and make your own theme. And moving widgets around easily was something wordpress didn’t have.

I’m still not sure what the big fuss with wordpress is anyway. But I do think Google hates their own Blogger/Blogspot platform and will rank them badly or quickly remove some articles from search results because the theme was messed up or something was not mobile friendly.

Now the more recent Blogger themes are mobile friendly although I haven’t been able to test them on all types of devices ye. They’re not super easy to modify but it’s doable to turn them into anything for free. Now I’m checking out some of these free WordPress themes and they’re okay, but seem a bit more restricted with how you can move stuff around. Blogger does not have a market at all for buying and selling themes, which wordpress has a lot of. But making wordpress themes seem like something that will take a while to learn. I have just been learning how to make static pages on blogger and turn them into anything with code etc. Maybe there’s just something I’m missing here why people are saying wordpress is much better. Or at least that’s what they used to say.

I guess I should try to learn some WordPress, seeing Google blogger is like dead. It might work but I can’t count on it being there forever. Nicko Blogs

Edit: Almost forgot, probably the biggest difference is that WordPress Free will place ads on your blog. Blogger doesn’t do that, and you can place your own ads. But that’s becoming less of an issue in the future I guess, since banner advertising is dying thanks to adblockers.

Getting the best view of the Milky Way

From a few places on Earth where the atmosphere is just right you might see the Milky Way and some of the local group galaxies – including the Large and Small Megallenic Clouds.

This panorama shot by Amit Kamble is one of my new favorites. LMC and SMC (bottom & top, left), and our milky way galaxy with its shiny center.

The arms of the galaxy encircle us at an incredibly far distance. It’s impossible to fully behold it all at once, and to get a perfect photo of it from Earth or anywhere.

Some other panorama shots flatten the galaxy arm to a straight line; but then the ground is not straight. From Earth we only see about 180° of the arm; so neither panorama is any “more correct” of a way to do it, I’d say. Continue reading “Getting the best view of the Milky Way”

How Far-Fetched is Total Matrix Virtual Reality?

With today’s technology we can get a pretty decent virtual reality experience. How far away are we from making believable alternate realities that could have a person fooled?

We can emulate walking, with a treadmill like Virtuix Omni. We can get a pretty realistic visual experience of a computer world, with a device like Oculus Rift.

It’s fun to imagine adding as many of these augmentations and gadgets as possible. It will get expensive, but you can interact in these 3D worlds in many ways.
Obviously it will get clunky as well. Which is why I’m excited about many other steps in technological augmentations too.

Dogecoin Is a Fun Way To Get Into Using Cryptocurrency

If you’re not ready to start using Bitcoins yet, or not sure if you’ll understand it, try getting a Dogecoin wallet.
On dogecoin.com you’ll find apps for android and iOS.
It’s very similar to bitcoin wallet apps. And easy to use.

The app makes a wallet for you, now you have an address where people can send dogecoins. Also a scannable QR code, send payments, and check the value of your dogecoins in Dollars or other currencies.

People who love Dogecoin really love Dogecoin. It’s to the point where aficionados of the meme-themed cryptocurrency will hand out dogecoins to pretty much anyone on the off cha..

I got my first few Dogecoins from some of these faucets. Faucets are websites/services that give out dogecoins daily or in intervals, now while the value is still low.

You can also mine for Dogecoins or join mining pools, just like with the Bitcoin.

And earn them by completing tasks and surveys: Earncrypto.com Earn Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin and more for completing tasks
